OUR HARMONY CLUB
We are a volunteer based nonprofit providing social day programs for individuals with age related disabilities ranging from Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s disease to social isolation. We operate out of various locations throughout Racine County and work to provide the best services we can for the older members of our community.
We meet from 9:30 am to 3:30 pm during which we spend time in conversation and active participation in games, activities, and exercise. We also enjoy lunch together and ending our day with a few games of bingo. In the afternoon we also have entertainment, such as accordion players, sing-a-longs, train talks, and many others, come in for an hour and all enjoy the talents that are shared with them.
As a volunteer based organization, volunteers are the foundation of our program. Without the time and dedication of so many individuals, we would be unable to provide our services at an affordable rate to caregivers. Volunteers usually work one on one with a client.
One of the primary purposes of Our Harmony Club is to provide respite care for caregivers. Respite care offers a rest for caregivers and gives those individuals time for themselves. During the 6 hours while their loved one is at club, they are able to go grocery shopping, spend time with friends, or just do nothing. That break is critical for them as it enables them to rejuvenate and refresh from the stresses associated with being a caregiver.
We meet in the basement at St. Sebastian on the 2nd and 4th Wednesdays of the month.
Our Harmony Club is a pre-pay club. There is a club fee of $30.00 per club with a requested donation of $3.50 for lunch. If you miss a club that you have already paid for, you have the entire month to make it up at any of the sites.
If you are interested in becoming a volunteer or know someone who could benefit from attending club, please have them contact us!
MISSION STATEMENT
We care for and about each other by supporting caregivers and those being cared for. We are volunteer based and promote and enhance the quality of life for all.
Meetings
What clubs might your guest like to attend? In fairness to all our guests please choose two (2) clubs per week. If a site meets three (3) times a month you may only attend that site twice in one month.
Clubs only meet the last three Mondays, the first four Tuesdays, the first four Wednesday and the first three Thursdays of every month. Clubs are subject to change. Prior notice will be given. We do not meet on Holidays.
